Meetings

Regular Meetings
The monthly regular school board meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the City Center, 111 Hassan Street SE.
Regular meeting exceptions in 2025: the March meeting will be on the third Monday.

Work Sessions
Work sessions will be held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 pm at the District Office (or other designated school facility).
Work session exceptions in 2025: March 31, May 27, and no meeting in December.

Special Meetings
Special meetings are held as needed.

Erin Knudtson, born and raised in Hutchinson, is serving her first term on the ISD 423 School Board. Erin graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in psychology and earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and served as chief resident during her final year. She has been a physician at Hutchinson Health since 2010. Erin and her husband Josh have four children: Max, Ellie, Jack, and Sadie. All of her children play hockey; she enjoys cheering them on and volunteering with Hutchinson Hockey as co-chair of special projects. In her spare time, Erin enjoys a pontoon ride or campfire with her family at the cabin, relaxing with friends over dinner, running, golfing, or delving into a good book or puzzle.

Michael Massmann was first elected to the Hutchinson Board of Education in 2020. After dropping out of Hutchinson High School he earned his G.E.D. from Adult Basic Education at Ridgewater College in 2017, later graduating Summa Cum Laude from Purdue University’s Global Campus with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2020. Michael enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard in 2007, deployed as an Infantryman in 2010, and continued to serve through 2023 as a Chief Warrant Officer 2 specializing in Electronic Warfare. He is employed at Land O’ Lakes Purina Feed Mill in Willmar as a Quality Programs and Safety Supervisor. Michael and his wife Angela, a paraprofessional in ISD 423, married in 2010 and have two children: Riley and Mico. Together they enjoy spending time with their extended family, glamping and being outdoors all summer, and spoiling both of their miniature dachshunds: Brownie and Sunny.

Sara is a married mother of 4 kids: Mara, Leah, Ben, and Nate (ages 24-15). Her family has lived in Hutchinson for 22 years now. She has been a stay at home mom and is an active volunteer. Her family attends River of Hope Lutheran Church and enjoys watching movies and playing board games together. Sara has enjoyed learning watercolor painting and art journaling and also enjoys reading and traveling.
