Tigers of the Week: May 30, 2017

The final TIGERs of the Week for 2016-17 are Cass, Logan, and Wyatt. Congratulations!

Cass Longie – Boys Golf

Cass Finished 3rd in D-C Invite. He has found his groove over the past two weeks, firing solid rounds of 77, 73, 76 and 76. He has learned to play within himself, demonstrating tenacity by not letting a bad shot or hole affect his overall performance. He has great respect for the game, his opponents and teammates. He puts forth great effort in practice and has become a team leader in many aspects.

Logan Wadsworth and Wyatt Hahn – Boys Tennis

Wyatt and Logan played strong and held it together with both teams watching and the team score tied 3-3, clinching the team victory over Mankato West in section play with a 3-set win late in the meet to give us the 4-3 win. Wyatt and Logan have been playing solid tennis together this year at the number 2 and 3 doubles spots. They’ve improved a ton as a doubles team and are always working hard in practice and matches.

Tigers of the Week: May 22-26, 2017

Emma Berthiaume – Girls Lacrosse

Emma’s a leader on defense and a defensive play maker, frustrating the opponents with her physical play. Emma is assigned the opponents #1 offensive player week after week, she accepts and effectively shuts them down. Mentally & physically tough with a calming influence on teammates. Very self-sufficient and positively motivated. Works extremely hard every day in practice, supports her teammates in wins or losses. Emma has the passion to compete and the compassion to be a great teammate. Treats players, coaches, refs and fans with respect and is confident in her ability. Truly an asset to her team and teammates.

Isiah Nelson and Maguire Petersen – Track and Field

Both were Champions at the Hamline Elite Meet and won their soecialties in the WCC Championships. Maguire was All Conference in the HJ, 100M. Dash and 4 X 100 relay. Isaiah Nelson was WCC champion in the TJ and 4 X 400 Relay. Both individuals have been leaders on the boys T & F team. They have worked hard to achieve success in thier respective events and are two of the best jumpers in the state.

Tigers of the Week: May 15-20, 2017

Congrats to Brady and Shelby, our TIGERs of the Week for May 15 – 20

Brady Zackrison- Baseball

Brady has been a relentless worker this spring on the baseball team. He has worked himself through an early season injury into being a major contributor both offensively and defensively for the Tigers and is a big reason why the Tigers are back in the hunt for a third consecutive WCC title. He is a tremendous team player that is always willing to help others around him get better every day.

Shelby Mohr – Softball

Shelby helped pitch our softball team to two conference wins this past week. She had an outstanding performance on the mound versus a very good undefeated New Prague team.Shelby had tenacity on the mound and pitched her way out of several jams. She picked her defense up behind her and encouraged them. Shelby was very respectful versus our opponents and the umpires. She was a great competitor this week.

Tigers of the Week May 8 – 12, 2017

Congratulations to Nick and Jennifer, our TIGERs of the Week for May 8 – 12.

Nick Haffley – Boys Golf

Nick has been the top golfer on a deep Tiger boys golf team all season. He has finished in the top 10 in all 5 invitationals we have played in, and top 5 in 3 of those. He has demonstrated tenacity in every round, by overcoming any adversity he has faced. He has grown as a player, exemplifying patience and effort. He has earned the respect of all, including opposing players and coaches. Nick puts in hours of work to improve his game, and in the process has made his teammates better as well.

Jennifer Schommer – Girls Track and Field
Jennifer works hard to achieve her goals. She is one of the team’s top performers in several events and has led the team in meet points due to her all-around effort and ability. She is an excellent leader and shows respect to her teammates, coaches and opponents.
