Fifth Grade Band
Beginning Band is an elective offered to fifth grade students. Sign-up occurs in early September. Instrument choices include:
- flute
- clarinet
- saxophone
- trumpet
- French horn
- trombone
- baritone
- percussion
The program’s focus is on building students’ musical skills in rhythm, counting, tone quality, and note accuracy. Beginning in October, small group lessons take place once a week for 30 minutes. Full band rehearsal is 45 minutes once a week beginning in December. Band participants perform two concerts (February and May) to showcase progress.
