West Elementary Library
West Elementary School Library features a collection of over 10,000 books and magazines. Kindergarten and first grade students visit the library for a half hour each week. During this time, they check out materials, enjoy stories read aloud and learn library skills. In addition to scheduled classes, students may visit the library any time during the day with a pass from their classroom teacher. The library also houses and maintains a guided reading collection of over 15,000 materials that teachers use during guided reading instruction. These books are sent home with students to be read to their families.
