Early Childhood Screening (ECS) is a health and developmental assessment for children ages 3 ½ years and older. Early Childhood Screening is mandatory in the state of Minnesota for all children before they enter kindergarten. Screening is provided by nurses, teachers, and professionals through your school district at no cost to you. Screening helps parents to identify potential health and/or developmental concerns around vision, hearing, speech and learning. Screening connects families to resources that will help children get ready for kindergarten. Please register for a screening as soon as possible, after your child turns 3 ½ years old, by calling 320-587-8908.
